Why am I a Life-Cycle Celebrant and wedding officiant?
My husband and I wrote our wedding ceremony to tell our own personal story – what was most important to us, and our hopes for the future. The ceremony was more meaningful than we could have imagined, and I’ll remember it with joy (and a lot of emotion!) for the rest of my life. As a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and wedding officiant, my goal is to create an unforgettably beautiful ceremony for others. It’s an honor to be included in one of life’s most important events.
That's a big reason why I'm a Celebrant. I also love public speaking, ritual, music and literature. I believe that the many people who aren’t affiliated with a religion, as well as those who rarely if ever attend a house of worship, need and deserve meaningful rituals and ceremonies to mark life’s milestones. Multi-cultural and interfaith couples deserve the same. I’m fortunate to help meet that need.
I'm a winner of Wedding Wire's 2013, 2014 and 2015 Couple's Choice Award, a member of the Celebrant Foundation and Institute Alumni Association, the International Association of Professional Wedding Officiants, and the American Association of Wedding Officiants.
I live in Maryland outside Washington, DC with my husband, John, and dog, Lucy. We love listening to music, (especially old school funk), The Wire, Breaking Bad, Steven Colbert, reading, kayaking and hiking. Marrying John is the smartest things I’ve ever done, and I’m happy to report we’re still very much in love.
I hope you'll send me an email or call me at 301-741-8573.
